Stay up to date with SAT announcements from College Board

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

Below is news from the College Board website:

We are doing all we can to expand availability of the SAT at test centers. We'll provide weekend SAT or SAT Subject Test administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new SAT administration on September 26 and a new SAT Subject Test administration for international students on November 7. We will also add a test date in January 2021 if there is demand for it. Our top priority is your health and safety. Please note that as the coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic continues to evolve, we will continue to monitor and will let you know if circumstances change closer to the test dates.

Test Center Availability and Capacity

Because of public health restrictions and high demand, there is limited seating capacity for students testing in certain areas. This year, many centers have fewer seats because of social distancing guidelines or may encounter unexpected closures. While the College Board cannot directly control capacity and test center availability, we are working with local high schools, colleges, and other sites to increase seating capacity in areas where August and September registration are filling up. Together with our members and local communities, we're doing all we can to add more test centers and more seats.

If you can't find a test center when you first try to register, try again by logging back in to My SAT, selecting the registration you started, and then follow the required steps. On the Select Your Test Center page, you'll see any new seats added in your area.

We'll also provide general updates as we add more test centers or seats. If you can't find a nearby test center with availability on your preferred test date, be sure to check other dates.

Registration Details

Registration for all SAT tests is open for all students.

If you are unable to find a seat in a test center near you, please check other dates.

Please know that colleges are being flexible with their application requirements this year; in some cases they are extending deadlines and/or allowing students to submit scores after deadlines pass. Check college websites to get the most accurate information on their policies and deadlines.

Eligible students can register with a fee waiver.
