Setting up your student (and yourself) for remote success.

Updated: Jul 2, 2020

With more demand for remote learning, make sure that you stay connected and educated about what type of education strategies really work. With the follow three tips, you can ensure that your student is set up for the ultimate success while working and learning remotely.

Make sure you have a set, yet flexible, schedule.

This is key for any at-home work environment. Everything from your morning routine to lunch time should be organized in a way that works for you and your home. It creates a sense of normalcy during uncertain times.

Create a refreshing work space. Make sure as you set up your student for success, you create a light and bright work environment for them (and for you!) This means get rid of the clutter and open those curtains for some natural light. Whether it be your home office or the kitchen table, make it a protected workspace with lots of lighting and an area for writing or typing. This way, you and your student will feel more organized and like you have someplace to "go" when it's time to engage and a place to "leave" when it's time to take a break.

Take breaks. On that note, remember to take breaks during the day. Get up at least once every hour and walk around the house, go outside, stretch, get out your yoga mat or your freeweights. Encourage your scholar to do some light exercising and deep breathing activities in between sessions. Get a snack, unwind for a bit before heading back to your workspace. Your body and mind will thank you later.
